His untimely yet controversial death over an accidental overdose of prescription drugs didn’t stop him from winning the most prestigious award in the film industry, the Academy Awards. The moment his name was called, everyone stood up to honor such a great actor as Heath Ledger. Everyone was teary-eyed listening to what his family would have to say, especially when Heath’s sister mentioned his only daughter, Matilda.

At age 28, Heath Ledger took the public in shock when the news broke that he passed away in a Manhattan apartment. Despite this, more and more people went to see his last film and thought that he gave Joker a different character- a deeper meaning and much applauded villain of all time- that rose above the ranks. His co-stars commend him not only for his passion for his craft but his humility and hard work, sense of humor and unconditional love for his daughter Matilda.

Though he will never have the chance to savor such precious moment as an Oscar awardee, the fact remains that Heath Ledger was undoubtedly, a legend. He is now officially the second actor to win a posthumous Oscar. To Heath, you are truly deserving to be honored for making such a wonderful job. I’d rather have the oscar go to somebody who will appreciate it more, like somebody alive.

That had been thought about by the Oscars’ panel of judges. However, they came to a mutual decision that Heath was really worth the posthumous award. And he was my crush since the movie 10 Things…😉

Yes it was an outstanding portrayal of the Joker indeed, Overtaking Jack Nicholson’s 1989 version of the mad clown.. couldn’t agree more. But for the record The Joker wasnt Heath’s last role/film. But obviously most of his work is now over shadowed by his oscar winning performance in TDK.

Yes, his last film was Parnassus wherein three great actors replaced his role: Colin Farrel, Johnny Depp and Jude Law. Upon knowing that Heath Ledger’s daughter was not included in his last will, these three actors agreed to give all their earnings from the film to Matilda.
