Lay Offs, Bankruptcy, Economic Turmoil in 2009?

Lately, watching the news has been a nerve-wracking thing among many Filipinos. Companies are either downsizing or worse, closing down leaving thousands of Filipinos jobless. Bad news. Really bad news. What’s more disturbing is the fact that more and more companies are filing bankruptcy and anticipating a closedown.

Last Saturday, The Philippine STAR released a very alarming news. The headline reads, “Anti Poverty Chief Sees More Pinoy Going Poor.” Now more and more people wonder what else will happen to the average Juan dela Cruz? How about the graduates of 2009? How will they be able to find jobs when the government itself is declaring massive layoffs? How else do we deal with this problem? Bad news is everywhere. Is there any way we could do to help fight this thing?

An inspirational leader named Francis Kong talks about layoffs and helps Filipinos cope with such problem on his site. Sure, it may not solve the problem of layoffs in our country. However, his advice will help ease the major setback that the Filipino people are facing right now by facing the situation calmly and putting things in the proper perspective. Dealing with LayoffsBuild or Bust Your Career in 2009 and more are some of the articles that aim to help people deal with their problems in positive ways.

Francis Kong is a very good inspirational speaker, writer, host and dj. I speak highly of him not only because he is good at his craft but because he continues to inspire people in so many ways. I have had a great opportunity to talk to him after a photo shoot that we did for a retail store where I worked as a Marketing Communications Manager and I must say that I have learned so much from him. However, it didn’t stop there because his articles continue to be a source of inspiration. I hope that Francis Kong will also inspire you the way he inspired millions of people.

I believe that with a positive attitude and hardwork, we can help salvage our country from this economic crisis. We can pull it off should we unite and work together as one country. Like what I have been saying, nothing is impossible to those who believe.

Taken from the lyrics of “When You Believe,” a song popularized by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, here’s an inspirational quote that will help during this time.

Many nights we’ve prayed
With no proof anyone could hear
In our hearts a hope for a song
We barely understood

Now we are not afraid
Although we know there’s much to fear
We were moving mountains long
Before we knew we could

They don’t know it’s often when you ask
And it’s easy to give in to your fears
But when you’re blinded by your pain
Can’t see your way straight throughout the rain
Boy,am i still resilient voice
Says love is the relief

There can be miracles (Miracles)
When you believe (Lord, when you believe)
Though hope is frail (Though hope is frail)
It’s hard to kill (Hard to kill, Ohhh)
Who knows what miracles, you can achieve
When you believe, somehow you will(somehow, somehow, somehow)
somehow you will
You will when you believe
