Pacquiao-dela Hoya Dream Match: Truly a Mismatch
The most-awaited Dream Match finally took place December 6 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. But the dream match turned out to be a mismatch. Certainly not for our Filipino champ Manny Pacquiao. Oscar dela Hoya appeared to be an old man who cannot even throw punches. Instead, he stood there, waiting to receive them.
Enough about the blabbering… Pacquiao certainly did all the fighting. It was a great show for Pacquiao but not a great game to watch and people expected a lot from Oscar. But he was either busy daydreaming about his victory or was overwhelmed with Pacquiao’s speed and agility.
What happened happens already. I am certain that even dela Hoya could not blame himself anymore. To those who didn’t believe Pacquiao all along were foolish enough to belittle his skills. And to those who were brave enough and insensitive (or rather imprudent) to preempt all the excitement of the game with their uncalled for comments and presumptions, that it’s going to be a fixed fight, you can just walk away and retire from your work. You are not worthy to work in the media industry where fair and balance reporting is mostly required.
Now that we know it’s not a fixed fight, would you say that it was a dream match? Was the show worth the wait?
