Potty Training Zoe

jackpotty2Zoe turned 19mos recently and the idea of potty training Zoe excites me since it is considered as a milestone and finally, saying goodbye to diapers. As a first time parent, I really don’t have much idea on how to begin with potty training.

But eager as I am, I bought her a good brand of potty training chair a couple of weeks back. It’s called Safety 1st Jack Potty. I didn’t buy it because of the brand considering that it is quite pricey. I bought it for many reasons. First, it (looks) durable and it seemed like. Second, it looks attractive to the eye. Zoe will be encouraged to sit on the potty chair. Third, there are many activities she can do while pooing. She won’t get bored because it has a lot of features. If she gets to pee or poo, there are different sounds that would signal she peed/pood. In her case, it’s like a reward. Jack Potty creates different sounds like, “Success!, Great Job, now pull the handle!” and more. It also has a spinning shapes and lights that are really attractive.

Lastly, it has an adaptor seat that can be placed on a regular adult toilet seat in case Zoe reaches that milestone. Cool, huh? But for now, I’ll train her to sit on it like she would sit on her Dora chair or any chair at all. I am always eager to go to the toilet with her all the time just to demonstrate. Can’t wait to hear her say “Mommy, I want to pee!” But BabyCenter advises to take it one step at a time.

Besides, Zoe may not be too ready for it. But I know she’d get there. No pressures! I hope some of you could give advices or suggestions on our way to reaching her milestone.
